Howlite is known for its white color and black veins, producing a marbled appearance. Posthumously named for Canadian geologist Henry How, this stone was discovered in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1868. Normally forming in chunky nodules, there are only a handful of locations where howlite can be found in a rare crystalline form. It is said to represent patience, inspiration, and creativity.
