Pyrite is beautiful and lustrous form of iron sulfide. It gets it’s name from the Greek pyr or pyro, meaning fire, because in case be used like flint to create sparks. Pyrite is also known by the colloquial name Fools’ Gold, but the presence of pyrite iron can be an indicator that real gold ore is nearby, and they often form together. It is known to form natural cube shapes, and even polished specimens often have stunning druzy caves. It is said to represent creativity, strength, and determination.
