Libyan Desert Glass, also known as Great Sand Sea Glass, is a unique material formed in a meteorite impact, as it’s pure silica makeup would have required temperatures of 2,912 degrees Fahrenheit (1,600 degrees Celsius). This incredible glass has been admired for thousands of years, with a specimen carved into a scarab beetle found in the tomb of King Tutankhamun. It is said to represent ascension and endless knowledge.
