Hypersthene is a silky stone known for its unique velvet appearance. Known for its banded, subtly flash, this stone is usually found in dark, earthy colors like black or dark green. While it is sometimes referred to as velvet labradorite, the two stones have little in common besides being discovered in Labrador, Canada. Hypersthene is said to represent protection and quietness.
