Mookaite is a unique stone prized for its bright colors, including red, yellow, and sometimes purple. Only found in the Kennedy Range of Western Australia, it is also unique in that some (not all) specimens feature small fossils, usually nanoplankton. It is thought that these ancient plants were key to mookaite’s formation, and perhaps its bright colors. Mookaite is said to represent stress relief, creativity, and connection to the Earth.
